报告简介:

Understanding and controlling the mechanisms responsible for plastic deformation is crucial for the development of new materials with superior performance, their processing and engineering application. The mechanical behavior of materials is closely related by their structure, since it determines the existence and mobility of defects. In this work we probe the plastic deformation at the nanometer scale by indentation and scratch measurements using diamond coated AFM tips as indenters to identify the mechanisms underlying plastic deformation of crystalline, nanoporous, and amorphous materials.


报告人简介:

Arnaud Caron is a Professor and Principal Investigator at the LAM-HGII, China, with expertise in the mechanical behavior of materials, surfaces, and components. Prof. Caron obtained his engineering degree in Materials Science in 2004 and earned his doctoral degree in materials science in 2009 from the University of Saarland, Germany. Prof. Caron worked at the IMNM @ University of Ulm, Germany, the WPI-AIMR @ Tohoku University, Japan, and the Leibniz – INM, Germany, and was a faculty member of Koreatech.
